Super GunBuild-1 is the culmination of all of the work of the Robot Research Club at Chuo Tanegashima High to build a working giant robot.
It is an upgraded version of GunBuild-1, the original giant robot first started by club founder Misaki Senomiya back in the early days of the club. While work on GunBuild-1 had previously halted in order to develop GunBuild-2 instead with the help of JAXA, the destruction of GunBuild-2 made GunBuild-1 the only option left.
While upgrading GunBuild-1 into a practical, working giant robot would normally be almost impossible, several technological developments made it possible to achieve this in a very short amount of time, most importantly the development of the monopole motor, which was incorporated into Super GunBuild-1.
Besides Super GunBuild-1 having a number of technological upgrades, it was also made possible because everyone on Tanegashima volunteered to help out the Robot Research Club in making it, so there were quite a lot more people to do both physical labor and engineering work.
