GunBuild-2 is the Tanegashima Robot Research Club's second giant robot modelled after Gunvarrel. It holds several key differences between itself and its predecessor. Firstly, whereas the GunBuild-1 is 12m tall, the GunBuild-2 is 8m tall. A second key difference lies in their designs. While GunBuild-1 physically looks similar to Gunvarrel, GunBuild-2 only looks like Gunvarrel with the aid of IRUO. augmented reality.
Following a failed test run of the GunBuild-1, the club works on GunBuild-2 after practicality considerations and a sponsorship offer from JAXA. They focus their efforts on constructing the robot until its ultimate demise at the Tokyo Expo.
