Chuo Tanegashima High (中央種子島高校, Chūō Tanegashima Kōkō) is the public high school the members of the Robotics Research Club attend, and where Mitsuhiko Nagafukada is both a PE teacher and the acting advisor to the club. The school is located in the central part of the island of Tanegashima, in the town of Nakatane. As of April 2019, a total of 278 students are enrolled.[1]
Along with existing in Robotics;Notes, it is also an actual high school in the real world, where it opened in 2007. By the time Robotics;Notes takes place in 2019, Chuo Tanegashima High has been in operation for at least 11 years, having changed its name to the current one in 2008. The school is coeducational, providing a general education as well as courses specialising in data processing.[1]
There is a slight difference in the word order of the name between Robotics;Notes and the real world; in Robotics;Notes it is called Chuo Tanegashima High (中央種子島高校, Chūō Tanegashima Kōkō) while in the real world it is called Tanegashima Chuo High School (種子島中央高校, Tanegashima Chūō Kōkō, full name Kagoshima Prefectural Tanegashima Chuo High School, 鹿児島県立種子島中央高等学校, Kagoshima Kenritsu Tanegashima Chūō Kōtō Gakkō).
